ANNA HELENE (nee SCHULTZ) BUSCHAU SCHMIDT Anna Schmidt passed away peacefully at Neepawa Hospital on Friday, April 23, 2004 in her 100th year. She was born on July 21, 1904 to Gottfried and Emilie (nee Nickel) Schultz at Waldersee, Manitoba where she spent her early years until leaving for employment at Plumas, Winnipeg, and Chicago. Anna and Frederick William Buschau married on November 22, 1925 in Waldersee and farmed in the Plumas area. After Freds accidental death in 1962, she continued farming for 5 years before retiring. In 1974 Anna married Friedrich Schmidt of Waldersee who passed away in 1987. She continued to live in her home in Plumas until the day of her death. Anna was predeceased by her parents, husband Frederick Buschau (1901-1962), son Keith (1948-1961), and son Harold (1927-1977) her siblings, infants Ottilie and Friedrick, Bertha, Karl, Gustav, Rudolf, Martha (Oswald) daughter-in-law Catherine Buschau. Anna is survived by her children Frances (Kurt) Schmidt of Waldersee, Jeanne (Erwin) Schmidt of Winnipeg, Shirley (Raymond) Single of Chilliwack, BC, Julie (Roy) Kjaldgaard of Plumas, Peggy (Fred) Krause of Morden, William Buschau of Thompson, and daughter-in-law Margaret Buschau (Keith Gorrie) of Plumas; as well as 29 grandchildren and their spouses; 42 great-grandchildren. Anna was very fond of sewing, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, baking, gardening and especially her flowers. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church, Plumas, MB with Pastor Richard Klein officiating. Interment will follow in the Plumas Cemetery. Pallbearers are Annas grandsons Eric Buschau, Brent Krause, Kenneth Schmidt, Kelly Kjaldgaard, Larry Schmidt, and Fred Buschau. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Plumas, MB, R0J 1P0. Clarkes Funeral Home, Gladstone in care of arrangements. "Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life." Rev. 2:10.
